Studio
The Metropolis is one of the few historical studios still active in Milan, since 1990 it has been present on the Italian and international music scene.
Numerous very successful projects have been born and raised here such as Morgan and the Bluvertigo, Marco Mengoni, Giusy Ferreri, Pacifico and Dolcenera; or others who have worked with us such as Fabrizio De André (Le Nuvole and Anime Salve), Roberto Vecchioni, PFM and international names such as Mika, Depeche Mode, Backstreet Boys and Randy Crawford.
We work mainly for the discography, but also productions for advertising, films and television shows such as X Factor Italia (for the first 13 seasons), we have been producing all the instrumental tracks for the competitors in the talent show.
The Studio 1 is the heart of our structure, comfortable, and with impeccable acoustics designed by Dario Paini. The control room is large and designed to be used also as an additional shooting room thanks to its silence and the large visual communicating with the live room. The equipment is constantly updated, but above all we have a highly professional staff. All the services offered take place in this versatile room, with a modern setup and with many vintage instruments.
The live room is 35sqm with a Yamaha grand piano, an Hammond organ with Leslie, Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos. We also have a Tama drum set with Zildjian cymbals always assembled and well configured by Roberto Gualdi, with whom we collaborate constantly for unattended online drum recordings, for projects with less budgets.
For the studio setup we made the choice to have instruments and outboards always connected and ready to use. This speeds up the works, lowers costs and support the choice of the non-sampled instruments in the modern productions, which can really make a difference in many contexts.
